In 1987 Barbara Davis set out to WOW the women
of Calgary by providing designer clothing that
was in perfect condition at a fraction of the
original price.
Few people understood the meaning of the word,
“consignment,” but Barbara set out
to build a business that not only changed people’s
negative perceptions about consignment, but
also provided a win-win opportunity for women
to buy and sell clothing while donating to women’s
charities.
A single mother to a gem of a daughter (you
can tell who is writing this), Barbara took
on all odds to create a space that allowed women
to feel empowered. |
