The
Winnipeg
Commodities Exchange (WCE)
is the sole agricultural commodities exchange and futures
marketplace in Canada. Futures
and options contracts are automatically traded in feed
wheat, western barley and canola. Canola
is the Winnipeg Commodities Exchange's (WCE)
chief commodity, but the WCE also trades contracts
on many other commodities and provides the worlds only
flax germ futures market.
The Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE)
was recognized in 1887 as the Winnipeg Grain
Exchange, name was altered in 1972 by western
farmers and grain merchants to provide a marketplace
for the growing agricultural production
of the Canadian prairies.
The main duty of the Board of Directors of WCE
Holdings Inc. is to signify shareholders and
to provide useful governance to the company. WCE
Holdings Inc. is the parent corporation of
Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc., WCE
Clearing Corporation and Canadian Climate Exchange Inc.
The Board of Directors will take out its mandate in
a straight line and through the Governance Committee,
the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. |
