Partnership REIT
Instead of owning properties straight, the REIT is the
common partner and has a majority interest in a joint
venture that owns and manages the properties.
Uncalled capital
The total amount of capital that as until now has
not been called up by the directors on the shares
which are presently issued.
Uncovered Call Writing
A small call decision location in which the writer
does not own an equivalent situation in the underlying
safety represented by his decision contracts.
Uncovered Option
A written option is considered to be uncovered if
the investor does not have an offsetting situation
in the underlying safety.
Uncovered Put Writing
A short put option position, in which the writer does
not have a corresponding short position in the underlying
security or has not deposited, in a cash account,
cash or cash equivalents equal to the exercise value
of the put.
Underlying instrument/underlying security
The underlying instrument is the asset that the possessor
has the right to buy or sell, or touching which a
cash payment is made on exercise of a decision or
warrant. The asset subject to being purchased or sold
upon exercise of the decision contract.
Undervalued
Relating a safekeeping that is trading at a lower
price than it sensibly should. Regularly determined
by the use of a mathematical representation.
Underwriter
An underwriter guarantees to the business that the
funds sought will be raised and any deficit will be
taken up by the underwriter and the funds will be
accessible at a specific time.
Underwriting
Agreeing, in revisit for a fee, to take up by way
of subscription in a new company or new issue a positive
number of shares if and so far as they are not practical
for by the public.
unit trust
A syndicated form of investment where a manager invests
funds on behalf of a group of investors.
Unlisted companies
Any company that is not scheduled on a stock exchange.
Unsecured notes
A loan made to a company for a permanent period of
time at a fixed rate of interest. They are issued
mostly, but not only, by finance companies for between
three months and three years
Upside Breakout
This occurs when a stock has consolidated, created
a base, or has been in a trading choice, and then
breaks above that level, surpassing resistance at
the top of the range or base.
